Fallas Festivities in Valencia
Fallas is a traditional celebration in Valencia, Spain, held annually in March. The festivities include parades, fireworks, music, and the famous «fallas» — giant sculptures made of wood, paper mache, and other materials. These sculptures are displayed throughout the city and are burned in a spectacular bonfire on the last day of the festival.
Each neighborhood in Valencia competes to create the most elaborate and creative falla, with themes ranging from political satire to pop culture references. The festival also features traditional dress, music, and dance, with participants wearing colorful costumes and performing traditional dances in the streets.
The highlight of the Fallas festival is the «Nit del Foc» (Night of Fire), a night of fireworks and pyrotechnic displays that light up the sky over Valencia. The festival culminates on March 19th with the burning of the fallas, a symbolic ritual that marks the end of the festivities.
